Drive or fly into Albany Airport (ALB).
The best time to arrive is between around Noon-3PM. However, if you can save a substantial
amount on your flight by arriving a few hours earlier or later, then do so.

All the items that you won't bring on the trail will be set aside and put in storage.

We only need to take 1.5 days worth of food in our packs. We will pick up the rest from the shuttle
vehicle(s) tomorrow.

Camp at T Lake Lean-To, elevation 2467'

Day-Hike (no full pack) 3.5 round-trip miles to T Lake Falls, elevation 2723'
Hike 3.5 downhill miles to Poplar Point State Campground, elevation 1660'
Shuttle to Northville Placid Trailhead NY 8 & CR 24, elevation 1720'
Load packs with the remainder of the food for the rest of the trip
Hike 3.7 miles to Hamilton Lake Stream, elevation 1450'
Camp at Hamilton Lake Lean-To, elevation 1450'
Miles today: 10.7. Total miles: 14.2
Possible bailout: NY Route 8

Hike 2.0 miles to Whitehouse Campsite, elevation 1300'
Cross suspension bridge and hike 3.1 miles to Mud Lake, elevation 1730'
Hike 3.7 miles to Canary Pond, elevation 2000'.
There has been beaver activity about a half mile prior to Canary Pond, so the trail may
be completely flooded and difficult to navigate.
Camp at Canary Pond DEC campsite, elevation 2000'
Miles today: 8.8. Total miles: 23.0

Hike 2.3 miles to Silver Lake, elevation 1900'
Hike 2.7 miles to Rock Lake, elevation 1950'
Hike 2.9 miles to Godfrey Road Spur Trail, elevation 1500'
Pass West Stony Creek Falls not long before reaching Godfrey Road Spur Trail
Camp at West Stony Creek DEC campsite, elevation 1500'

Just after leaving camp, we ford West Stony Creek. Important: Water crossing may be difficult or
impossible when water levels are high (typically Spring, not Summer)
Hike 1.4 miles to a footbridge, 1350'
Hike 3.5 miles to Collins Gifford Valley Rd, 850'
End of hiking portion of trip

Pick up shuttle vehicle in Piseco
Shuttle back to local Albany hotel

This is the official end of the trip. You are welcome to spend the night at
the hotel, however if you drove and would like to get on the road or if you flew
and would like to schedule a late flight (or a red-eye if
this is a West Coast trip) you can definitely do so.
